Accommodation: Stayed at the Wesley in the Wanchai district on the island, rang them direct and got a great rate. Usd 80 per night. The hotel is centrally located and there’s a shopping mall nearby called Pacific Place, which has a fantastic food mall - cheap prices.

Got the bus as friend recommended it wow, the views are fantastic; this is the real Hong Kong. U get A11 bus from the airport. It's less than GBP2.00 and takes about 45 minutes. The bus stop is directly outside the airport terminal. Check when you get to airport in case they changed it

Shopping: An absolute must is "the Peak", Hong Kong Island, you can catch the Peak Tram up to the Peak which is an experience in itself and once up there u have Madame Tussauds, Ripleys Believe or Not museum, simulator, loads of shops and some nice restaurants too. There’s even a shopping mall up there now and of course the best views of Hong Kong!

Accommodation: Park Lane Hotel on Hong Kong Island which is 5 star, is pure luxury Contacted then via the internet got a great price.
It is only a couple of minutes walk from Causeway Bay MTR station.

Also Overlooks Victoria Park. When arriving into HKG, get the Airport Train to Central then get the H2 free bus which stops at 5 different hotels on HKI, the Park Lane being one of them. Will save u on the cab fare, which I thought was a rip off

Transport: The airport is clean and modern. The underground - MTR - is fast, reliable and air-conditioned which is u will need.
Street trams & Buses are everywhere, u can get on and off and no matter how far you travel it is just HK$2 for the tram.

Taxis are red, which you can't miss! There is also the Star Ferry which takes you from Kowloon to Hong Kong Island which u must do, once during the day and definitely once at night, the island looks fantastic all lit up at night… Downstairs only costs about HK$1.70 (15p!) but I recommend going first class i.e. upstairs, as you get the best views and fresh air! HK$2.20 (20p)

General: Take a stroll through Hong Kong Park. Really idyllic. Visit Lantau Island and get the 23 bus to see the Big Bhudda. Loads of steps so not for the faint hearted. But you get to see one of the biggest bhudda statue in Asia.

Times Square is good for shopping and if you get the chance go to the Space Museum. There is so much to pack in, no matter how long you go for you will want to stay longer!

The night markets are brilliant, there are loads, Kowloon market, Stanley market & temple street night market are some of the best, but get your Hotel to tell you which ones and what days they are one. They are just a hustle and bustle of food, stalls and people. Hold onto your valuables though, as so many people u have to be careful.

Entertainment: Lan Kwai Fong. Have loads of bars, but found prices a bit steep
Otherwise the revolving restaurant and bar at nigh on the island is a must as the views are grt, plus places always seems to have gorgeous women in their?
