Date Visited: Dec 2005 General: Satyed at the Hilton in Toronto was a cool hotel, got a cheap deal of the inernet. You need to hire a car, as the Coaches an cabs to get to the falls are very expensive.. So me and the wife took the plunge and got a car from Alamo, Found it was cheaper to call back to london and book it from thr, As when we got prices locally it was bloody expensive. Left early morning and drove down the freeway, to the falls, the place is amazing...The sound you can hear well before you get thr! We spent all day and night thr and it wasnt enough, wished we had stayed overnight. You can go behind the falls to caves and you get soaked but well worth it. Its truly incredible.. There is a boat called the Misty Maid, a boat that takes you out to the bottom of the falls, but with the ice and snow had been docked... Great food and bars all around but we just sat outside a bar and wtached the falls. At night they light it up and its wonderful. A must if you go thr. You need your passport if you want to go across and check out the view from the USA side. Maybe next time. |
