UK URBAN FASHION AWARDS 06 -THE FIRST EVENT OF ITS KIND
An awards ceremony to recognise the achievement of urban fashion designers in the UK¡¦
The first ever UK URBAN FASHION AWARDS (UUFA) is set to take place on Sunday 19th November 2006 at Porchester Hall, Queensway. It is an award ceremony to recognise the achievement of urban fashion designers in the UK. This award ceremony is being hosted by the UUFA Organisation, a collective that aims to increase public recognition of the achievements of urban fashion designers within the UK.
Adenike Durosaro, Manager of UUFA said: For the first time UK urban fashion designers have the chance to be judged solely by their potential buyers, the general public.¡¨
Designers will showcase their work to fashion buyers, retailers, celebrities and the general public, and compete against their peers for a UK Urban Fashion Award. There are a number of categories to reflect the diversity of urban fashion, including Best Customizer of the year, Best Streetwear designer of the year and Best Couture line of the year.
The best designers in each category win a UUFA award, the opportunity to showcase their collection and gain access to wide press coverage.
Reuben Christian, UUFA Creative Director said: "We recognise that the UK urban fashion industry is in desperate need of a platform to showcase itself to the world. The urban music industry already benefits from numerous award ceremonies, something the fashion industry needs. Therefore UUFA presents this unique opportunity."
